New low energy lights at Whittington St. Giles

Three new low energy floodlights have been installed at St. Giles’ Church Whittington. The new lights have not only improved the floodlighting of the Church but are using less than one fifth of the power previously consumed. The original quarts halogen floodlights consumed 4000 Watts but this is now reduced to only 750 watts.
The funding for the low energy lights was by way of the Local Members Initiative Scheme, which enabled Mathew Ellis to grant funding for this project.
The picture shows the formal ‘switch –on ‘ of the new floodlighting on Thursday 28th January 31st, with councillor Mathew Ellis presenting the funding cheque to the Vicar of St.Giles Whittington, the Revd. Fiona Haskett.
